Last year I signed up to be a travel agent. During one of our seminars from the veterans, she just kept saying over and over how you have to sacrifice the first couple years maybe but it will pay off and how all of their families understood and picked up the slack so they could put more time into building their brand. I immediately resigned. I am a single mom but even then, my kid will always come first. God will provide like he always has and ever since then he’s blessed me to find gigs where I can stay home with my kid while also not sacrificing the time I spend with her training her and raising her by chasing a career or any job. Beyond thankful ❤

What is keeping you from being real and honest about your parenting experience ?

I really appreciate and respect your response to spanking and discipline. Though I am often one who wants people that I listen to on these platforms to answer this very debated topic, I see the wisdom you are using in pointing listeners to people in their church that are older and have seen the fruit of their decisions in the matter. Often times if feels like people don’t want to loss followers if they answered the question, but I have learned so much from your response and explanation of why it is not best for you to answer this question. Yes half baked harvests recipes aren’t always as good as the photos! But i prefer cooking from books and not online because its less decisions and then neither put an X or a check mark if id make it again. My goal with all my cookbooks is to have every recipe tried and marked

Just wanted to comment on movie watching. My husband and I use a filtering service called VidAngel that can filter out any scenes or bad language you don’t want to see or hear. It’s great, and can really expand your movie watching selections. We are a Christian family too and don’t want to hear or watch anything that isn’t good for us spiritually.

While neither my husband nor myself is happy or proud of our sinful pasts (we both had our "wild years")...it has made for a truce where neither of us feels like we can hold something over the other person's head. When someone has truly repented and is now leading a Christian life, shoving their face in past mistakes shouldn't be done anyway.

AW Pink is deep and I’d never met anyone who even knew who that was! I also grew up in NWA. I met my husband who was pastoring 2 Primitive Baptist Churches. I heard doctrine I’d never heard. How could God elect some and not others? I learned so much during that time. I consumed so much information including AW Pink. When I moved back to Northwest Arkansas, there wasn’t any churches that I knew of around here that believed what I had bcome to believe. Sovereign Grace!

It’s so common like you said for marriages to experience this and it wld be nice to hear a story of how to navigate this in a healthy matter. What it actually looks like, what changes are put in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again or what not. It’s helpful to hear others redeemed stories and wld be much appreciated! Thanks

I can't say enough how incredible this episode was!!!

I dont think we grow when we dont go to church and fellowship with others. Coming from someone who is predominantly introverted and want to be home all the time and struggle to commit to more things at church i have grown and have overcome many areas in my life being apart of the body of christ. Seeing family members who are not seem to have grown spiritually asleep and stagnant. I was convicted to learn not having a love for the body of christ is a sign of the fruit of the spirit not at work in my life because Jesus loves His church. We either grow around other's or we become more isolated and the later is worse than the first. I have been hurt in the church and its pushed me away but God has kept me in church and not let me be the lost sheep away from the 99.

My heart breaks for this woman. I’m sure her husbands pain is very real, but he sounds as though he is holding onto some entitlement and lies from purity culture. I pray he can mature in his relationship with the Lord before this sin on his part does even more damage to his wife and their marriage.

There were a lot of good points in this episode. One thing that’s important to keep in mind is there are two sides to every story. We’ve only heard the wive’s story. Appreciated the discussion.

It honestly breaks my heart that Jessa is still so...deep into the cult. She used to have sucg a strong personality and spirit. Even the creepy way she's looking at him is straight out of Gothards teachings.

Great episode. I am emotional thinking about all the people who are probably praying over the couple who wrote in after hearing this episode. It is amazing to think about the intercession that might occur. Lots to take from this.

God's forgiveness erases the sin. We are a new creation. Old things pass away, all things are new. Praise God. God walks with us. When these emotions unfold, we ask God to give us the strength and wisdom to handle it.

I can never get through these podcasts ever. I wish they would just get to the point and cut out all the extras.

I would have loved to hear the prayer out loud. Our words have power over the broadcast.

Things that may keep a spouse from forgiving and moving on: 1) they sense their partner’s lack of true repentance 2) their partner continues to be deceptive about other things, 3) their partner shifts the blame for their past actions, refusing to accept full responsibility for their sin.

What if the person doesn't confess sin. We still need to forgive but we need to bring it up again.

It is also perhaps wise to renounce all demon spouses. Break soul ties as he might be picking up kn a 3rd party in the spirit realm. We need to renounce sin confess sin and turn away.

I pray that the couple go to their pastors for deep counsel/shepherding on this matter. I agree with you all. Christ laid his life down for his bride. *agree

I had a couple of friends in college. I'm not sure the sexual history of the guy, but I think he was a virgin. He dated a super sweet girl who was a new believer and had had a serious relationship prior and was not a virgin. He became very abusive to her. It was weird. You meet this lovely girl and proceed to pick her apart. I think this is a jealous, abusive person holding their past against the woman. It's a self-righteous person not walking in the Spirit. He's letting satan lie to him and mess with his mind. My husband had a past. I knew about it in general terms, not details. I had seen other women torture themselves by asking detailed questions about those former relationships. I just knew it was unwise to conjure up images of the past. If it's forgiven, let it go. I don't listen to secular/CCM music anymore, but needtobreathe has a lyric, "leave the past right where it's at."

Currently going through a similar situation. It is difficult and heartbreaking. Prayers for my husband and I are appreciated.

But that really is SO inconsiderate to never refill the ice cube tray (which takes hours to freeze up)!! Would have been hard for me, too (as a wife). 😣 I think she should have stepped up to just fill the ice cube trays as an act of love/service/consideration. Also, when he talked about the spoon thing, I was totally expecting his wife to be touched by it, but it actually sounded like she was annoyed/ungrateful in her response. Am sure he is storing up lots of treasure in heaven! ❤

I have four children and baby number four was born when my oldest was still four. I lost some weight in an attempt to feel healthier to carry another baby, but regained the weight. It has been super discouraging because I very much would like to have more children, and my husband is open to that as well. I just feel uncomfortable already with how I look, and it’s hard to imagine gaining more weight as is natural in a pregnancy and just feeling so big. My other hesitation has unfortunately been my mother-in-law who does not share the same sentiments on growing our family. Housework is not my strong suit, and she sees that as just one of several reasons why adding another baby would be a hindrance to our family. Thank you for this episode. It encourages me a lot that I can make changes to my lifestyle and habits that may be hard right now, but will greatly benefit my future self. I really see the potential of adding more children as something that will not be detrimental but an abundance of blessing, and while I may not be a model example of a larger family, it’s something the Lord would surely use to sanctify me and refine my life to better reflect Christ. Love you guys and thank you for discussing this relevant topic! ❤

The word and theme of Unity keeps on coming up in life too. Unity with God and each other. This theme is in marriage where two become one too. Heaven and earth. One kingdom where Heaven and earth are one. Marriage where two become one. One big family living out the essence of the Lords Holy spirit. Mirror of the Blessed Trinity. God the Father God the Son God the Holy Spirit. Three divine persons in one God. Jesus is God in person. Faith in action. Invisible God made visible. His spirit comes out of the unity of God the Father and God the son. So deep the Lords love! Beautiful.
